The homebrewers among you might be interested in this gentleman's attempt to clone Ska Brewing Co.'s Modus Hoperandi IPA.
It doesn't surprise me that he wasn't entirely impressed by the result. Modus, which uses four different hop varieties, strikes me as a difficult beer to clone. The teeth-kicking hop flavor of that particular India Pale Ale is unique.

I am wealthy beyond words, for in my refridgerator right now is Ska Stout, Euphoria, Raging Bitch from Flying Dog, and something delicious from Avery.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the link! I was a little disappointed at first for sure, though now that I've let it bottle condition a bit longer it's turned out quite nicely. That hotness I described has disappeared and it's been popular among friends. Only problem is now I'm down to only a couple bottles. I'm going to try and brew something similar this weekend, swapping some of the Centennial out for Chinook.
